Vulnerability
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change. To be vulnerable means being open and honest about one's feelings, thoughts, and experiences, even if they are uncomfortable or difficult to share”.- Madeline Miller In Brené Brown's TED Talk "The Power of Vulnerability," she explores the concept of vulnerability and how it can lead to more meaningful connections, greater creativity, and personal growth. Brown suggests that vulnerability is not weakness but rather a courageous act that requires strength and self-awareness. She also discusses the importance of self-compassion and how it can help us build resilience and overcome shame and fear. Brown's message about the power of vulnerability resonates with many people. In an Arab society that often values strength and self-sufficiency, and that does not believe in neither mental health in general nor therapy.
She suggests we allow yoursevles to be vunrable, we are not perfect. This can help benefit everyone by connecting with other on a more personal level and how this can make both friendships and relationships more relatable by embracing our imperfections and trying to work on them to better ourselves.
I liked how short and concise your blog is. You talked about all the points that were discussed in the 20 min ted talk with great understanding and examples.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you started by a quote and talked about the origin of it and its true meaning. I also liked you relating to the Arab society, your points are really good. However, I believe it would have been better if you discussed a personal experience related to the topic.
